1. GENERAL

If an account is suspended or removed the same user must not attempt to re-register on this site or utilise another user's account.   • 1.7 When registering with this site, users are giving their express permission for the data supplied to be used for all the purposes described on the website, in our terms and conditions and in our privacy policy.

  • 1.8 Our website operates as a venue through which candidates seeking assignments are put in touch with prospective clients. The website takes the form of a searchable business directory in which advertisements are placed by suitable individuals, businesses then search the directory for candidates to fill their vacancies. Alternatively businesses can place assignments on the site and receive replies directly from candidates our via our mailbox. Plato's People also provide bespoke search and intorduction services upon request. Our role and responsibility ends once we have facilitated contact between candidates and prospective clients, after that it is entirely their responsibility to make their own contractual arrangements

  • 1.9 We do not verify in any way the information provided by site users, we cannot be held responsible for the accuracy of this information.

  • 1.10 We will take all reasonable precautions to maintain the security and integrity of our website and prevent the misuse of the information contained in it but we cannot be held responsible for the misuse of any information contained on our database or information subsequently supplied by any prospective candidates or clients to third parties.

  • 1.11 We reserve the right to charge fees for our services to both candidates and business users. Our fee structure will be published on the website and will be updated from time to time. All users will be aware of the fee structure prior to purchase of any paid for product. Please see the Help section for our current fee structure or our Products and Prices page.

  • 1.12 Due to the nature of the internet or other events there may be interruptions to our website service. We cannot be held responsible for any losses arising from such events, nor will we refund any fees charged to users of our site.

 

2. CANDIDATES

When you register on this website:
  • 2.1 You agree to represent yourself, your qualifications and experience honestly and accurately on this website.
  •  

  • 2.2 You must be aged eighteen or over.
  •  

  • 2.3 You must be eligible to work in the UK
  •  

  • 2.4 You must have no unspent criminal convictions (excluding minor driving offences).
  •  

  • 2.5 You must not be aware of any other serious problem or issue which could prevent you from undertaking and completing an assignment.
  •  

  • 2.6 You may be registered on our website whilst working on a current assignment, however should you completely cease to work in this capacity we recommend you end your registration with us.
  •  

  • 2.7. You must undertake to upold the quality and integrity of this site by completeing your registration and profile information to the highest standards. We reserve the right to remove or edit any registrations for any reason, but reasons include entries from candidates who do not meet the site criteria, entries which are poorly written, entries containing website or contact details in the text where the appropriate upgrade has not been purchased, entries from members who have not updated their account for more than one year or who have out of date email addresses and do not respond to client requests to get in touch.
  • 2.8 You must agree to allow prospective clients to verify of any data provided by you or run any other checks that they deem appropriate.
  •  

  • 2.9 You must undertake to deal promptly and courteously with all enquiries from prospective clients, even if you do not wish to progress with the enquiry.
  •  

  • 2.10 You should operate either through your company and invoice the client directly for your services. You should not expect to be placed on your client's payroll.
  •  

  • 2.11 You are responsible for the security and confidentiality of your user account password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of all aspects of your account, you must remain vigilant at all times in case of attempted fraudulent activity by third parties.
  •  

  • 2.12 We cannot guarantee the accuracy of information supplied by prospective clients. It is entirely your responsibility to make all appropriate enquiries before entering into any contractual arrangements with them.

When you upgrade:

  • 2.13 All payments are made in advance. Where a candidate purchases a package from the site, there will be no refund if the candidate subsequently cancels the package or cancels their site membership, or if we terminate membership.
  •  

  • 2.14 We reserve the right to remove packages from candidates in the event that a payment is not successfully processed.
  •  

  • 2.15 All payments are accepted via our preferred supplier Paypal and we do not have any access to your banking details. Any queries or concerns regarding payments to our business must be addressed directly to Paypal. We do not request banking information from you and you should not supply it to us in any circumstances.

When you apply for an assignment advertised on this site:

  • 2.16 We reserve the right to retain your CV and personal details on our 'offline' database and may therefore contact you from time to time with details of other suitable vacancies that arise or with information and offers from Plato's People.

 

3. BUSINESS USERS

  • 3.1 You agree to represent yourself and your business honestly and accurately on this website.
  •  

  • 3.2 You must be based in the UK, or seeking a candidate to work in the UK.
  •  

  • 3.3 You may register for the purposes of filling a vacancy within your business organisation and must declare this to be the case on your application to register. You must only use the candidate's data for the purposes of considering their suitability for your vacancy. You must not pass this information to any third party or use it in any way other than that described here.
  •  

  • 3.4 You may register if you are an intermediary, for example a headhunter or agency, for the purposes of filling multiple vacancies on behalf of clients. You must declare you are an intermediary on your application to register. You must always seek the candidate's prior permission to add their information to your own database or to use it for the purposes of considering their suitability for a specific vacancy.
  •  

  • 3.5 You cannot register as a business user for any other purposes than those described in Sections 3.3 and 3.4 above. Any user found to be doing so will immediately be banned from the site.
  •  

  • 3.6 You must undertake to deal promptly and courteously with all candidates, even if you do not wish to progress with their selection.
  •  

  • 3.7 We cannot guarantee the availability of the candidates you select.
  •  

  • 3.8 We cannot guarantee the suitability of the candidate you select.
  •  

  • 3.9 We cannot guarantee the accuracy of information supplied by candidates. It is entirely your responsibility to make all appropriate enquiries before entering into any contractual arrangements with them.

  • 3.10 You are responsible for the security and confidentiality of your user account password. You are responsible for maintaining the security of all aspects of your account, you must remain vigilant at all times in case of attempted fraudulent activity by third parties.

    When you advertise an assignment on this website
  • 3.11 You must only advertise a specific, currently available business vacancy
  •  

  • 3.12 Your advertisement must comply with all employment legislation and must not be discriminatory or otherwise offensive.
  •  

  • 3.13 You must agree to allow us to edit or amend the advertisement to ensure quality, searchability and an appropriate fit with the ethos of our site.
  •  

  • 3.14 We reserve the right to refuse publication of any advertisement  and we are not obliged to give reasons for the actions we take regarding such refusals.
  •  

    When you purchase a package or advertisement
  • 3.15 All payments are made in advance. Where a business purchases a search package, bespoke package, job advertisement or other general advertisement from the site, there will be no refund if the business subsequently cancels the package, advertisement or site membership or we terminate membership.
  •  

  • 3.16 We reserve the right to remove packages or advertisements in the event that a payment is not successfully processed.
  •  

  • 3.17 All payments are accepted via our preferred supplier Paypal. We do not have access to any banking details and any queries or concerns regarding payments to our business must be addressed directly to Paypal. We do not request your banking information directly and you should not supply it to us in any circumstances
  •  

  • 3.18 Where a business purchases a candidate search package the package will expire when the search limit or time limit is reached, whichever is the earliest. If a business searches the same candidate more than once, each search will count towards the search limit.

 

4. LIABILITIES

  • 4.1 This section (and any other clause excluding or restricting our liability) applies to our directors, officers, employees, subcontractors, agents and affiliated companies as well as to us. Nothing in this agreement in any way limits or excludes our liability for anything which may not legally be excluded or limited.

  • 4.2 Our liability of any kind with respect to our service for any one event or series of related events is limited to £100.
  •  

  • 4.3 In no event will we be liable for any economic losses; loss of goodwill or reputation; indirect or consequential losses.
  •  

  • 4.4 You agree to indemnify us (including our directors, officers, employees, subcontractors, agents and affiliated companies) against all third party claims and liabilities related to your breach of this agreement and/or to your use of our service.

      When you register with this site or respond to an advertised assignment, you are required to disclose personal data in order to complete your registration or submit your details, some of this data may be considered 'sensitive data'. By registering on our website or respnding to advertises assignments you are consenting to the use of that data in accordance with our terms and conditions and privacy policy.

       

      The registration "help guide" highlights how the information is used, whether it be to create your personal account with us, or to complete your profile which can be accessed by third parties. Specified information will create your profile advert in our on line directory which is accessible, and therefore widely available, on the internet. Further specified information will create your profile details which are only available to registered business users who log in to the site. Please note we do not verify any information provided by business users, nor can we guarantee that they have complied with the terms and conditions shown on our site.

       

      You have the option of keeping your contact details private and being contacted via our messaging service. If you use this option we cannot guarantee that you will not be identifiable from other information in your profile eg if you have a highly specialist skill, you name former employers on your CV, you inadvertently include contact information on your CV or elsewhere.

       

      You can remove or amend any information that we store about you by logging in to your personal account and taking the appropriate action or contacting us with a specific request. If you delete your account, we reserve the right to retain the information on our database for a reasonable time (minimum one year) thereafter.
